Edelbrock Torquer II Manifold Modification
________________________________________________________________________
Sometimes the rule book requires some creative thinking to circumvent. Here is an example. An Edelbrock Torquer II
manifold was mandated for this specific oval track class. We thought there was some room for improvement.
A bit of welding performed.
Welding completed.
Manifold flanges surfaced.
Here the welds are being roughed in on the milling machine.
Runner pair carbided for shape.
The exterior of the runners has been hand ground, blended and sanded to establish the shape.
Manifold has been scribed to the cylinder head.
First runner ground to size.
Flow tesing the complete induction system.
All internal porting has been completed, manifold has been blasted to restore the original exterior texture.
Side by side comparison of a stock vs. completed manifold.
